eek! it's been too long! so we are working furiously to get stuff ready for spring/summer. we are sewing the men's cotton knicks right now and windbreakers. unfortunately we won't get the zippers for the windbreakers until the end of April so we expect to have these available the first days of May. but they will be worth the wait, just you see!

for all of you looking for the Dynamic knicks in smaller sizes we will have a new fabric for this year that has all th properties of the Dynamic knicks of last year. we are calling these wwr (for wind and water resistant) and they come in black and dark grey. look for them by the end of March. maybe a little earlier.

oh yeah, and we have wool socks now! the fine folks at SOS made them for us.

and we will have a bunch of new colors in the hiding hoodies available for both men and women. they should have been done by now but a tiny piece on our machine broke and we are waiting for it to be shipped to us. hopefully by mid-March we'll have them available.

oh, and also, we now have new colors for the Milwaukee hoodie available as well: black, grey, navy and a great green.

happy turkey day!we've been working on a bunch of new stuff and some is available now, like our 100% merino wool baselayers for men and women. we're also sewing our hiding hoodies now and these should be available in early December. the second week of December we should have our jeans available. with the same bike-friendly features of our knicks (stretch, seamless gussetted crotch, articulated knees, etc.) but full length and made of denim i can't wait to start wearing these.

in other, less exciting news, our sewing has been chug chugging along. slower than anticipated but we're all figuring it out slowly. tomorrow we start sewing the hoodies. we hope to have the first few available in 2 or so weeks. very exciting.

we are also building an inventory of our wool caps in many colors and patterns. we should get those up soon as well.

There have been major delays with the Rivendell knickers at every step, but we are hoping they will be ready the first days of October.

we have been busy this summer! we are working on a hoodie that we collaborated on with Milwaukee messenger Kevin. this should be available by late September. we will have several fabrics available for this; our wonderful Schoeller Dryskin softshell, a GoreTex softshell that is a bit heavier (both are water and wind resistant), and a wool knit. Kevin has also been working hard on a new cycling glossy called COG also debuting by the end of September. i especially look forward to the centerfold!

apart from the hoodie we have been working on wool socks and armwarmers, these should be available by October. get ready for kermit arms! later in the year we will have 100% merino wool baselayers.

other big news for us is that we have started our own production! we had been using 2 sewing contractors but their tardiness in delivery was driving us mad. so we purchased a bunch of machines, hired one sewer (we are looking for 1 or 2 more) and are sewing away! matt and i are learning to do the simpler operations to help out.

FYI we are almost up to date with the men's cotton knickers we have had on backorder. we very much appreciate the unending patience those of you who have been waiting for your knickers have had. we sent out all black 32s and pavement 36s last week, and by the 26th will have all pavement 32s ready. the rest should be done by the first days of September.

we have more new fabrics! we've added Schoeller's Dynamic line of fabrics for spring/summer. they have been flying out the door since we put them on the site, especially the smaller sizes. but fear not, we are making more now. we have 4 colors available for men and only one (acid yellow!) for women but we hope to have more colors for women by mid-june.

we have completely run out of wool caps. sorry! it's been a bit difficult to find someone to make them and we are considering making them in-house. it will take a bit of arranging but we hope to have more on the site by early june. however! we are expecting cotton caps in more color choices! we will have a grey fabric available plus we have expanded the ribbon colors that will be available for both the black and grey caps. weeeee!

we made a small test run of the wide leg knickers but they are still a bit tight for jack, the rider with the awe-inspiring thigs of pure muscle we are using as our guide for these. so we have gone back and added more room, are working on a sample this week and if everything is a-ok they will be available by mid- to late june.

we have new fabrics in for knickers! check out the new heavy- and mid-weight Dryskin Schoeller fabrics in overcast blue, navy-ish blue and cinder grey. they have a water- and wind-resistant face and soft fleeced inside, 4-way stretch, and are generally amazing.

also hopefully by the end of the month we should have our regular and wide leg 2007 cotton knickers and lightweight Scholler knickers. the 2007 improvements include a double-ply seat in the thinner fabrics for added durability and a few changes in the cut for a better fit.

the lightweight Schoeller Dynamic fabric is Swiss-made and features water repellency, permanent 4-way stretch elasticity, rub-fastness, excellent shape retention, breathability, moisture regulation, a long useful life, and machine-washability for easy care. the men's knickers come in stone and in a fine herringbone in olive, steel, and dark grey. they are so lightweight and comfortable that as we've been wearing the samples it feels like we're naked.
